Synopsis

This magical tale is set in a sun-soaked coastal surf town when 11yo Canadian orphan Evie lands in Australia to live with her Uncle Cam after her mother passes away. But she’s not having any of it and immediately plots to steal enough cash to buy a plane ticket home. When Uncle Cam reveals certain high up Christmas connections when it comes to getting kids’ Santa letters answered (yes Santa), Evie must come to terms with her new life and give in to the power of positivity, magic and love.

Evie Hates Christmas is a family film starring the legendary Frank Woodley, famous for his physical acts of funniness and linguistic lunacy. The film will be a laugh-filled and kid-focused journey for Evie, starting as a cynical grump to finding her inner Elf and appreciating the magic in everyone around her. Inspired by the true story of Postie Cam – a happy go lucky Postman who festoons his postal bike with Christmas decorations only to be shut down by Australia Post on safety concerns.
